I am a senior professor in the Department of Social Policy who has worked in the field of welfare theory, ways of life, life histories, generational studies, and most recently "evolutionary sociology" of which I am the only representative in this community (i.e. academia.edu). I am trying to get sociologists interested in the importance of evolution for their subject, which is an extremely difficult task. And irritating, because the same prejudices crop up again and again.
