About
My central interest has been Leibniz since early 1990s. I first studied in the Department of History where I made a licenciate thesis on Leibniz's practical projects.
After that thesis I changed to the Department of Philosophy and wrote a Ph.D. thesis on Leibniz's theory of Rational Decision (2007, supervisors prof. Lilli Alanen and prof. Simo Knuuttila).
Currently I have a research project on emotions and the perfectibility of man in Leibniz (2011-2013; Postdoctoral Research Fellow of The Academy of Finland) where I will concentrate on his view of emotions and their effect on our moral action.
Besides Leibniz and Early modern philosophy in general (especially Spinoza and Locke), my other interests in philosophy include dreams, death and humour. I also enjoy reading biographies of philosophers.
