About
Massimo Fichera started his Post-Doctoral research at the CoE in May 2010. His interests lie in the intersection between EU and international law and the nature and purpose of EU integration, with special emphasis on EU constitutional law issues. Before joining the University of Helsinki, he completed his PhD on the principle of mutual recognition in criminal matters and the European Arrest Warrant at the University of Edinburgh and carried out research during his internships in international organisations, such as the European Commission and the United Nations. He has published works on the European Arrest Warrant, mutual recognition, organised crime and drug trafficking. He holds a degree in Law (University of Messina) and a Master in International Affairs (ISPI, Milan) and qualified as Avvocato in Italy.
