About
My main research interest over the last few years has been the search for a methodological position from which one could approach all cultural phenomena, close and distant, past and present, on equal terms without doing injustice to their specific nature or assuming anything structurally defining about them. In the meantime, I have not abandoned reading classical Japanese literature and East Asian philosophy, nor investigating the mechanisms of modernization - this is just the theoretical ground that I feel the need for while trying to say something about these things that would be significant beyond the narrow borders of the guild.
